Real Valladolidโ€™s Sierra Leonean player, who still has a youth academy contract, will only have to pay 6 million euros to be released, a much lower amount than the proposals received by Real Valladolid from several European giants.

Dramatic story at Real Valladolid. The Spanish club, who negotiated with several clubs the sale of Juma Bah, finally seems that they will only be able to obtain 6 million euros for the playerโ€™s departure. According to media reports from the Pisuerga side, the playerโ€™s representative, Patrick Mork, informed the โ€˜Blanquivioletaโ€™ that he was going to deposit the playerโ€™s termination clause of only 6 million euros with the RFEF in order to be free to sign for another club.

ย

How has this situation come about? Well, to understand it we have to go back to the beginning of the season. Real Valladolid signed Juma Bah on loan from AIK Freetong of Sierra Leone with an option to buy for one million euros. Initially, the centre-back arrived to reinforce the youth team, but his spectacular performances and the quality he showed in training propelled him into the first team after just one game in the reserve team.

Of course, before Juma Bahโ€™s good performance attracted other teams, Ronaldo Nazarioโ€™s club decided to buy the African player for the aforementioned amount, but was unable to get his agents to sign a contract with the first team.

As the defender still has a youth contract, the termination clause set for terminating the contract is 6 million euros and this would have risen to 12 million euros if he had been signed by the reserve team and up to 30 million euros if he had signed with the first team. This was reported by Chus Rodriguez, from โ€˜Radio Marcaโ€™, who also revealed offers higher than the 6 million that Real Valladolid will finally receive.

While Real Valladolid, knowing that Juma Bah could terminate his contract for a lower amount, tried to negotiate as soon as possible with other clubs, the interest of Manchester City led the playerโ€™s representatives to decide to terminate the contract in order to have the freedom to decide his future.

Juma Bah, who has not renewed his contract and has one of the most modest contracts in La Liga, has only 13 professional appearances in his career, 12 in La Liga and one more in the Copa del Rey. The 18-year-old made his first-team debut under Paulo Pezzolano against Real Sociedad when he had only made two appearances for the youth team and one more for the reserve team. Now, he could leave for Manchester City for just 6 million euros in a career that is currently enjoying aย meteoricย rise.

Defender Abdulai Juma Bah (pictured at the Brussels airport en route to France yesterday) arrived in France last night to finalise a loan deal with Ligue One team RC Lens from Manchester City after he terminated his contract with La Liga side Valladolid on Wednesday
