also claim that the said individual was seen in photographs taken during events attended by His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio and his family.

The Government of Sierra Leone wishes to make the following points unequivocally clear:

During the festive season, the President attended numerous family events and public gatherings, where photographs were taken with many attendees. The President has no knowledge of the identity and the issues detailed in the reports

about the individual in question.

The Government of Sierra Leone has not received any formal communication from any country or institution regarding this Jos Leijdekkers.

In response to these reports, the Government has initiated these actions to address the situation:

A transparent and thorough investigation is underway to establish all the facts surrounding these allegations including the identity and alleged activities of this said individual in Sierra Leone.

The Sierra Leone Police is ready to collaborate with the Dutch Government, Interpol, and other international law enforcement agencies to ensure full cooperation and accountability.

The Government of Sierra Leone strongly reaffirms its steadfast commitment to combating transnational crime, including drug, arms and human trafficking and all forms of terrorism. We are resolute in ensuring that our country does not become a safe haven for any organised crime.
