𝐒𝐋𝐏𝐏 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 

According to a letter written to the SLPP Constituency Chairman for Constituency 033, Bombali District, North-East Region, dated 4th February, 2025 the Bombali District Office has suspended Mr. Abu Bakarr Kargbo, Constituency 033 Chairman, with immediate effect for Severe Misconduct, Insubordination, Violent and Riotous Conduct, among others.

Dear Mr. Kargbo,

This notice serves to inform you of your immediate suspension from the position of Constituency Chainman for Constituency 033, Bombali District, North-East Region effective immediately. Your recent actions of 4th February, 2025 constitute severe misconduct, insubordination, violent and riotous conduct, which were entirely unacceptable and detrimental to the integrity of the SLPP.

During the consultative meeting held on Tuesday 4th February, 2025, at the Regional Party Office, 13 Kamal Street Makeni, in Bombali District, presided over by Mr. Dwight Z.K. Sheriff, (National Y.G. Secretary) National Executive Officer and National Returning Officer for Bombali District, in his presence and others, you forcefully collected and carted away a substantial number of party cards without authorization. Despite multiple requests from the National Returning Officer and the District Executive members, you willfully refused to return the cards, causing significant disruption and concerns among party members. Your behaviour displayed a blatant disregard for party protocols and exhibited violent and riotous conduct.

The District Executive members, along with the National Returning Officer, condemn your gross indiscipline and flagrant disregard for party rules and regulations. Your actions have seriously undermined the core values and principles of the SLPP and have compromised the integrity of the electoral process.

Effective immediately, you are hereby suspended from all duties and responsibilities associated with your position as Constituency Chairman for Constituency 033. You are prohibited from participating in any party activities or functions until further notice. The District Executive will conduct a thorough investigation into this matter and appropriate actions will be taken. Meanwhile, all the party cards that you forcefully took on your heels are hereby declared “null and void”.

The District Executive, in collaboration with the National Returning Officer, remains unwavering in its commitment to upholding the integrity of the SLPP and ensuring a fair free and transparent lower level electoral process in Bombali District. We urge all members to remain united and steadfast in our party’s values as we address this serious issue. For the time being Alpha Thoronka Gbla will serve as acting-Chainman for constituency 033 until further notice.
