On August 5, 2025, Parliament approved the appointment of Joseph Maada Lahai as the new Commissioner of the National Youth Commission (NAYCOM).
This milestone marks a significant step in advancing Sierra Leone’s youth development initiatives.
As Commissioner, Joseph Maada Lahai will provide strategic leadership and oversight to NAYCOM’s efforts, to promote youth development, empowerment, and engagement across the country. His appointment is a testament to President Julius Maada Bio’s commitment to strengthening youth-focused governance and empowering Sierra Leone’s youth through effective institutional support.
Under Commissioner Lahai’s stewardship, NAYCOM will continue to drive the nation’s youth development agenda, shaping programs and initiatives that benefit the youth of Sierra Leone.
