On August 5, 2025, Parliament approved the appointment of Joseph Maada Lahai as the new Commissioner of the National Youth Commission (NAYCOM).
This milestone marks a significant step in advancing Sierra Leoneโ€™s youth development initiatives.
As Commissioner, Joseph Maada Lahai will provide strategic leadership and oversight to NAYCOMโ€™s efforts, to promote youth development, empowerment, and engagement across the country. His appointment is a testament to President Julius Maada Bioโ€™s commitment to strengthening youth-focused governance and empowering Sierra Leoneโ€™s youth through effective institutional support.
Under Commissioner Lahaiโ€™s stewardship, NAYCOM will continue to drive the nationโ€™s youth development agenda, shaping programs and initiatives that benefit the youth of Sierra Leone.
NAYCOM looks forward to working with Commissioner Joseph Maada Lahai as he embarks on this critical mission. We congratulate him on his appointment and pledge our full support as he assumes his new responsibilities.
