Head of the Transitional Organise Crime Unit (TOCU), Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Moha med Krugba Alieu, has disclosed the arrest of 14 foreign nationals with Cocaine in 2024.
He made this disclosure while addressing Journalists at the usual weekly press conference at Police Headquarters on George Street Freetown.
According to the Head of TOCU, nine (9) of these foreign nationals are Nigerians, two (2) are Tanzanian, two (2) are Guinea Bissau and one (1) Is a Pakistani national.
Most of them he went on to say, were arrested at the Freetown International Airport (FIA) with the drugs concealed in different items including Bibles and travelling boxes.
The suspects he said are facing trials in both High and Magistrate Courts for various offences of illegal possession of narcotics drugs and other related drugs offences.
He however stated that Sierra Leoneans were not arrested with Cocaine but with other narcotics drugs and for migrants snuggling.
