Today, His Excellency President Adama Barrow met with Hon. Timothy Musa Kabba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sierra Leone, who delivered a special message from President Julius Maada Bio.
During the meeting, Special Envoy Kabba praised the longstanding and beneficial relationship between The Gambia and Sierra Leone, highlighting areas such as education, trade, and social cohesion. He noted The Gambiaโs involvement in the ECOWAS peacekeeping mission as a powerful example of African unity.
Kabba also shared insights into President Bioโs ambitious development agenda for the Lungi International Airport region, which aims to establish a modern conference center, hotels, and other facilities to accommodate international and domestic travelers alike.
In response, President Barrow congratulated President Bio on his vision to transform Lungi into a dynamic regional hub for collaboration. He also acknowledged the ongoing support from President Bio and ECOWAS for Guinea-Bissau during its transition period.
โCharity begins at home. If we cannot integrate at the sub-regional ECOWAS level, I do not think we can achieve it at any other level,โ President Barrow remarked.
Accompanying Special Envoy Kabba were Dr. Sering Modou Njie, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, and Ms. Martha C. Kanagbo, High Commissioner of Sierra Leone to The Gambia.
