The Kidsโ€™ Parliament Sierra Leone has expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu, for his support towards its โ€œGiving Back to Societyโ€ project aimed at improving the lives of children in vulnerable communities.
In a letter dated 26 August 2026 and addressed to the IGP, Speaker of the Kidsโ€™ Parliament, Hon. Monic Jackson said the organisation was grateful for the IGPโ€™s โ€œkind gesture and precious supportโ€ which contributed to the success of the initiative.
According to the letter, the project created positive experiences for children in the beneficiary community, while promoting hope and improving their welfare.
The Kidsโ€™ Parliament said the IGPโ€™s commitment to the welfare and protection of children had inspired its members and demonstrated the importance of collaboration in creating a brighter future for Sierra Leoneโ€™s younger generation.
The organisation also enclosed photographs from the project activities, saying the images captured the โ€œjoy, hope and impactโ€ created in the lives of the children.
Beyond expressing appreciation, the Kidsโ€™ Parliament disclosed to the IGP of another initiative, a back-to-school project targeting schools in vulnerable communities.
The proposed back to school intervention is expected to help provide children with essential educational materials and other support needed to improve their academic experience.
The Kidsโ€™ Parliament described the planned engagement as an important step towards ensuring that children are equipped with the necessary tools to succeed in school.
Hon. Monic Jackson, on behalf of the Kidsโ€™ Parliament, reaffirmed the organisationโ€™s commitment to working with the Sierra Leone Police and other stakeholders to advance the welfare and protection of children.
โ€œWe remain proud to work with you and look forward to deepening this partnership for the benefit of our nationโ€™s children,โ€ the Speaker stated
The Kidsโ€™ Parliament has previously undertaken community focused initiatives under its โ€œGiving Back to Societyโ€ programme, including activities centred on children supporting other children.
