As father killed….  Government declares Paul Tucker family wanted

Information gathered by this newspaper indicates that thePaul Tucker family members, formerly of 114 Hospital Road in Kissy Dock Yard in the east of Freetown are now on the run, fearing for the safety of their lives after they were declared wanted by the Sierra Leone Police on the allegations that they were engaged in subversive activities, murder, arson and colluding with coup plotters to overthrow the Government of Sierra Leone by the use of force.

The reports disclosed that the family members were part of the 10 August, 2022 protests that went on the rampage in Freetown and some other towns in the country in which houses were burnt and scores of civilians and six Police Officers killed.

The reports further stated that on that day heavily armed Police Officers and Soldiers arrested Pa Paul Tucker and two of his sons who were taken into detention, while their mother managed to escape.

The reports further stated that during the night, unknown assailants believed government agents stormed the community where they ransacked houses and set Pa Paul Tucker’s family house on fire, killing three people in the blaze.

In a recent development, during the Pademba Road Prison break in the aftermath of the attempted coup d’tat on 26 November, 2023, Pa Paul Tucker was reportedly killed while his two sons are believed to have escaped.

A community member inforned this Reporter that Police Officers and Soldiers stormed their burnt out house searching for the members of the Tucker family.

He revealed that armed Soldiers and Police Officers continue to visit the house, searching for the remainder of the Tucker family, making threatening remarks that when they catch them they will kill him on the spot.

As we were going to press the community member told us that Albert, their mother, two elder bothers and their younger sister have neither been seen nor heard from since 10 August, 2022 and there are fears that they might have been killed or died in the forests.

He concluded that the country is no longer safe for them mother as they have been marked for death the day that they are captured.
